Polly Letofsky's story of courage and determination
is both entertaining and inspiring, and
there's no better way to hear it than from Polly herself.
Polly Letofsky left her home in Colorado
and headed west,
traveling 14,124 miles, 5 continents and 22 countries -- on foot --
to become the first woman to walk around the world.
As an awareness campaign for breast cancer, strangers welcomed her into their homes, and offered her food, accomodation, and friendship.
But it was never an easy road.
Every day she struggled with adversity
earthquakes, muggings,
languages, and even religious riots.
The ultimate challenge came in the middle of Polly's journey when
September 11 flung us all into a crossroads in world history.
Polly’s walk became far more than a fundraising effort.
It became a journey personifying the
spirit of commitment and perseverance
that compels you
to
follow the road to your wildest dreams.
